What it is like to build with us

My late father left us the land in Pasir Mas. We knew we wanted to build on it one day, but we had no drawings, no plan, nothing. ZAM came out to the lot, asked us how we actually live, and drew a layout there and then. Seeing it in 3D a week later was the moment it felt real. They built it in six months and the price did not move from what we agreed.

I had been burned before by agreeing to a build and only seeing the real design once the walls were up. With ZAM it was the opposite. I saw the 3D, I saw the full cost broken down, and I had time to change things while changing them was still easy. By the time we signed for construction there were no surprises left. That is how it should work.

I work in Doha and the land is in Machang. Building a retirement home from another country sounds like a bad idea, and it would have been with the wrong company. ZAM sent me weekly photos and short videos, kept a shared folder of everything, and called me before every payment stage. I visited twice in ten months. The house was ready when they said it would be.

I was not ready to build yet, so I took the planning and 3D package on its own. That gave me a proper layout and a realistic cost to plan my finances around. Two years later I came back with the budget sorted and we went straight into construction using the same plan. Doing it in two steps took the pressure off.
